Our software product -- the Scalent Virtual Operating Environment (aka Scalent V/OE) -- lets companies rapidly change which servers are running (powered on), what software stacks their servers are running (operating system & application), and how those servers are connected to network and storage, without making physical changes to their infrastructure – radically increasing data center flexibility and asset utilization.

Unlike existing data center control solutions, Scalent takes an open approach (using customers' existing non-proprietary hardware, operating systems, virtual and real machines), addresses all aspects of the data center (server, network connectivity and storage access), and is architecturally outside the data path (imposing no extra overhead or data risk).

The result is that companies attempting to implement business continuity (server failover / high availability / disaster recovery) and QA Infrastructure Automation (Rapid test harness setup / moves into production), or IT Consolidation (test labs / managed services) can do so more simply and cost effectively, while realizing the benefits of reduced infrastructure overhead, simplified manageability, and increased system performance.
